Terms and Conditions

In order to have driving lessons you must:

  • Be aged 17 or over (16 or over if disabled)
  • Hold a driving licence that is valid in the UK (provisional, full or an appropriate foreign licence)
  • It is your responsibility to provide your Instructor with proof that you have a valid licence to drive before the commencement of your first driving lesson. If you do not provide this proof, your Instructor is entitled to refuse to conduct the driving lesson but may still charge you for the lesson.

You must notify your Instructor of any matters which affect your ability or entitlement to have driving tuition, for example any lack or loss of a valid UK provisional driving licence.

A minimum of 24 hours notice is required to be given to the Instructor by the pupil to cancel a lesson and should the pupil fail to give such short notice the pupil will be liable to pay the full tuition fee.

You and your Instructor are responsible for agreeing timing, location and duration of your lessons.

Our Instructor cannot be held responsible for delays due to traffic. Where possible the Instructor will contact the pupil to advise (phone signal providing).

Where possible, our Instructors will make up any lost time at the end of their current lesson or add to a future booking.

In the event of a mechanical breakdown or other difficulty outside the control of the Instructor, the Instructor reserves the right to rearrange lessons at short notice.

The price of the driving test fee does not include the use of the car for the purpose of the test and any prior instruction. Therefore current rates will apply. Please refer to our price list for details.

Driving tests may only be arranged with the prior agreement of both the Instructor and the pupil.

The Instructor is at liberty at his/her discretion to refuse to proceed with a lesson if he or she has reason to believe that the pupil is in any way under the influence of drink or drugs at the time of the lesson.

The Instructor reserves the right to withhold the use of his/her vehicle for a driving test.

Payment for lessons is to be paid directly to the Instructor. Payment is to be made by either cash, cheque or some Instructors take direct bank transfer but that is at the discretion of the individual Instructor.

If a voucher is purchased for a pupil that has yet to have lessons with Oak School of Motoring Ltd payment for the lessons/voucher is to be paid directly to Oak School of Motoring Ltd.
